docs.imatest.com is the new home for Imatest documentation. It replaces the previous docs site with one that has improved navigation, formatting, organization, search, works offline, is printable, and available in several languages.

Reading anywhere

The offline viewer
The viewer reads this documentation with no network connection and no browser. Download it from the
documentation home, where there is a build for Windows, for macOS (one
universal build covering Intel and Apple silicon), and for Linux as either a .deb package or an
AppImage. The viewer is still in beta; the documentation it reads is not.
The installer carries no documentation itself. You choose which versions to keep, and how they get there:
- The library lists every documentation version, installed or not, with its page count, download size, size once installed, and languages. It opens on launch when nothing is installed, and is always available from File > Documentation Library (Ctrl+L, or Cmd+L on macOS).
- Installing takes one click. Pick a version and it downloads from docs.imatest.com and installs itself. A download that is interrupted resumes from where it stopped rather than starting over, which matters on a 400 MB package.
- Installing from a file covers a machine that has never been online: drop a package zip onto the library window, or press Install from a file there. It is the same install with the download step removed, so a package can travel on a USB stick or a shared drive.
- Staying current. The viewer compares what you have installed against what is published, a few seconds after launch and then every six hours, and File > Check for Updates asks on demand. One check answers for the documentation and for the viewer itself. Nothing installs without your agreement unless you turn on Update documentation automatically, and turning an update down is remembered, so the same one is not offered again.
- Versions live side by side. Several releases can be installed at once, each one independent, and installing one does not interrupt reading another.
Apart from the parts that need a network, an installed version behaves exactly as it does here: full-text search, the glossary and the index, every language that was built, dark mode, typeset mathematics, and the interactive comparisons and calculators.
Translation
Pages are available in Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese alongside English. A language switcher keeps your place when you change language. Pages that have not been translated yet fall back to English, and machine-translated pages are labeled so you know they have not been reviewed by a person.

- Dark mode option, following your system setting.
- Syntax-highlighted code examples with one-click copy, and properly typeset mathematics.
- Interactive elements where they help: before-and-after image comparisons, charts and parameter calculators, all of which work offline too.
- Every page carries a "was this helpful?" control, and that feedback reaches the people who maintain the documentation.
