Cannot read values off an Isolight puck on Linux

Problem

The Isolight Puck Light Meter appears in Linux, but no values are available. Instead, "~~~" is displayed.

Solution

Provide the user permissions to read from USB devices:

  1. Open a terminal window.

  2. Run the following command:

    sudo adduser <user> dialout

    where <user> is the username of the Imatest user.

  3. Restart computer.
